At Teesside Law, we understand that some of the most important decisions made in relation to a case are made at the police station. If we become involved at an early stage of an investigation, we are often able to affect the outcome.
- Protect your legal rights
- Provide you with expert advice and guidance before your police interview
- Allow representations to be made against any charge
- Allow representations to be made in support of bail
- Minimise the length of time that you are in police custody
You are entitled to have a solicitor present free of charge at any police interview and a friend or relative of someone detained at a police station may be able to instruct us on their behalf.
The Legal Aid Agency requires us to attend the police station within 45 minutes of being notified by the police that they are ready to interview you but in reality, we are usually available to attend within minutes.
Even if you feel that you have nothing to hide, it is always best to have a solicitor to advise you at the police station. Our firm operates a 24 hour call out service for police station advice and we offer high quality guidance and representation.
If you, or a family or friend find yourself in the distressing situation of being questioned by the police, then contact Teesside Law straight away and we will be on hand quickly to support you through this stressful time.
